To simplify this entire process, start with the basics. Step one is to know a little about the needles and yarn itself so that you end up with a good product and a good product. There are three basic types of knitting needles, circular, double (-point and point the best known). Everyone is usually made of wood, metal or plastic.

Wooden needles are usually made of bamboo or hard wood. Bamboo is strong, lightweight and easy to workwith. Metal needles are usually made of aluminum and are easiest to find. They are heavier than bamboo and although it is very difficult to break it, you can bend them. Slip stitches a little easier on aluminum needles than others, so with super smooth yarn can be difficult. Aluminum needles are usually a good idea if you must, with small needles.
